Cameco Fund for Mental Health 2022 Awards Grants to Three Blind River Area Organizations
BLIND RIVER, Ontario, Canada (December 16, 2022) – The Cameco Fund for Mental Health has awarded three grants to organizations in the Blind River area working on mental health projects. This year’s grants will benefit students and youth and families.
A total of $15,000 was raised through the first annual 2022 Cameco Charity Golf Tournament at Huron Shores Golf Club in the summer.
“We are grateful to all of the applicants and to all of the people who are working to provide important mental health programs and services in our local community” said Terry Davis, general manager of Cameco’s Blind River Refinery. “Through this grant program, we are able to directly help organizations and groups who are working hard to provide programs and resources to those who need it.”
Following a call for funding applications in October, submissions were adjudicated by a panel of representatives from Cameco, local mental health experts and the Saskatoon Community Foundation, which is the administrator for the grants.
The 2022 Cameco Fund for Mental Health recipients are:
- St. Mary’s Catholic School
- Huron Shores Family Health Team
- Blind River Cadets
